SOLUTION
Envative created an IoT gate controller (called QuickBlue), two mobile apps and Visitor Management System (web portal) that control and manage access for gated communities. The device uses encrypted BLE communication with nearby mobile devices (iOS and Droid). Once a valid mobile device is found in range of the gate controller, the user is prompted to press a button on their phone to open the gate. Their Access, including allotted times and Gate entry points, is visible and selectable within their phone. Visitors can be either permanent (such as residents) or temporary (such as landscapers or housekeepers). Device can be connected to a variety of entry point types simultaneously.
On the companion product, the Quick Pass Elite App, the residents see even more controls. Each member in the community, via a mobile app, is able to administer their list of allowed visitors, create and schedule events and even add vehicle information and directions to their profiles. The community manager can define periods of time that a visitor is allowed in the community. This period of time can be defined by hours in one day, reoccurring time range or a defined date range. Management has a clear view of all visitor that are in the gated community at any time, along with a history of the gate’s allowed entries including dates and times when they occurred.
The complexity of the solution is masked by the simplicity of the design providing easy to use applications for the variety of different end-user types.
