The Situation
GRYT Health CEO and Founder David Fueher is a two-time young-adult cancer survivor. His experiences, challenges and learnings during his battles with the disease led him on a mission to improve the lives of cancer patients throughout the greater community through technology. He wanted to create an online platform for people affected by cancer to connect them with others having similar experiences, and to provide them with in-depth information about options specific to their needs or diagnosis. GRYT’s founders knew first-hand that information is not a luxury, but an undeniable right to patients.
David and a team of fellow cancer survivors formed GRYT in 2015, with the goal of providing support and resources to improve experiences for cancer patients and engage the wider community in developments about ground-breaking research that could ultimately end cancer.
The Challenge
To serve the cancer community in the way GRYT Health knew was essential, they needed more than just a simple WordPress website. GRYT’s broad focus required a robust CMS platform that would support a wide variety of users and their unique needs. The site would be a tool and resource for patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, researchers and advocacy groups.
The site also needed to support an extensive resource library, with filters by cancer type, that would be easy to maintain and stay current with the latest news, advice and research.
The design for GrytHealth.com had to provide a sense of trust and authority, safety and hope, along with a user-friendly UI/UX for its diverse audience. Easy posting of new community support events with registration capture and integration with AI Chat were additional components for the site.
